The Optimist Club of Milton is a local service club chartered by Optimist International. Our goal has been “Friend of Youth” to young people in the Milton area for over 40 years. Our mandate is to conduct positive service projects aimed primarily at providing a helping hand to youth but, at the same time, we do not ignore other areas of the community.

Some of the major projects that our club has undertaken over the years include donating over $100,000 towards the construction of the Milton Leisure Centre and more than $50,000 over the years to the Milton District Hospital, for programs and equipment primarily related to infants and children.

The Club has also been involved in sponsoring or running many other youth-related events yearly throughout the community, including a Fishing Derby for handicapped youth and adults, a soccer skills competition for young soccer players, and a Christmas party for those less fortunate youth that may receive little or nothing from Santa at Christmas. The Club has also been involved for a number of years in supplying free of charge the breakfast at the Strawberry Fair, the major fundraiser of Milton District Hospital Volunteers.
